Terms of Use
Simple rules for using CreateOnline CV.
Last updated: 4 October 2026
These terms govern your use of createonline.cv and any CV you create or export with it. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please stop using the site.
1. The service
CreateOnline CV lets you write, save and export a CV as PDF, JPG or Word document. We may add, change or retire features at any time. We may also suspend access if we need to protect the service, other users, or to comply with the law.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your sign-in details to yourself.
- Accounts are for individuals. Do not share one login across a whole team or agency.
- You can close your account at any time by writing to us — we will delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you type and upload. We claim no rights over your CV, your photo or your personal data. You grant us only the narrow, temporary licence needed to store it, render it and export it on your behalf.
You confirm that you have the right to use everything you upload, and that your CV is accurate and does not infringe anyone’s rights.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload unlawful, defamatory, or deliberately misleading content, or anything you do not have the right to upload.
- Attempt to access another person’s account, CV or stored files.
- Scrape, overload, probe or interfere with the service, or bypass rate limits and ad placements.
- Use the site to build CVs that misrepresent your qualifications, employment history or identity.
- Resell, redistribute or rebrand the service without written permission.
5. No employment guarantee
The templates, layout suggestions and format guidance we provide are guidance only. Nothing here promises an interview, a ranking in an applicant tracking system, a job offer or any hiring outcome. Only the hiring organisation can make that decision. A CV that matches the actual job description is what gets interviews — decoration does not.
6. Availability
We work hard to keep the site online but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may pause it for maintenance, and we are not liable for losses caused by downtime, lost work or failed exports. We recommend keeping your own copy of anything important you create.
7. Third-party services and advertising
The site displays advertising served by Google AdSense and contains clearly labelled partner links. We do not control third-party sites, and their own terms and privacy policies apply when you follow them. See Advertising & partnerships for how we make money.
8. Intellectual property
The site design, name, template artwork, code and written content are owned by CreateOnline CV and protected by copyright. You may use the exported CV for any personal or professional purpose, including paid work, but you may not resell, republish or claim the templates themselves.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data or any business interruption arising from your use of the site. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us (which is nothing, because the service is free) or the minimum required by law. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from CV content you upload or export that infringes a third party’s rights or breaks the law. This does not apply to claims caused by our own software or content.
11. Termination
You can stop using the site and close your account whenever you like. We may suspend or terminate access immediately if you breach these terms or if required by law. On termination your saved CVs will be deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer elsewhere, you keep the protections of the mandatory laws of your own country.
13. Changes
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
