Advertising & Partnerships
How this free site pays for itself.
Last updated: 4 October 2026
Building and running a CV tool costs real money every month in servers, storage and email. We refuse to paywall the export or bolt on a watermark, so here is exactly where the money comes from — and, just as importantly, where it never comes from.
1. Advertising (Google AdSense)
We use Google AdSense to display ads on the public pages of this site. Google decides which ads to serve based on the page, your general browsing and region — never on the content of your CV, which we do not share for ad targeting.
Ads are clearly separated from our own content and from our sponsor links. They are labelled as advertising and never presented as part of the product.
2. Partner links
A small number of pages carry clearly labelled links to services we genuinely use — currently web hosting for our own sites, listed on our hosting page. If you purchase through such a link we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you.
Three rules we hold ourselves to:
- Always labelled. Sponsored links sit in their own block marked “Partner pick” or “Sponsored”, never inside the AdSense ad unit, and never disguised as a download button.
- Never self-serving ads. We do not run our own ad network, and we never put a house offer inside a Google ad slot. That confuses advertisers and breaks Google’s policies.
- No extra cost. A commission does not change the price you pay.
3. What we never do
- No paywall before download, and no “your file is ready, sign up to save it” tricks.
- No ads inside a form field, a download button, or a navigation link.
- No selling, renting or sharing your CV content or email address.
- No paid “recommended” employer or job listings.
- No deleting a negative review of a service we do not actually use.
4. Why we publish this
Trust is the product here. A CV you write with a photo, an email address and your work history deserves a site that tells you exactly who benefits. If we ever add a new revenue stream, it will be added to this page before it goes live — and if it changes what we recommend, we will say that too.
5. Advertising with us
We accept a small number of direct sponsorships where the product is something we would use ourselves. Rates depend on placement and traffic, and we will not accept any creative that misleads, promises employment outcomes, or looks like one of our own UI elements. Write to hello@createonline.cv with “Advertising enquiry” in the subject line.
