About CreateOnline CV
Career tools that respect your story.
Last updated: 4 October 2026
CreateOnline CV is a small, free web app for writing a CV that is easy to read and easy for software to read. It was built on a simple frustration: the CV tools people can afford online either produce generic, badly typeset documents, or they paywall the export button.
What we make
One editor with thirteen templates, real A4 pagination, a live preview, a profile photo, and export to PDF, JPG and editable Word. A free account is required, because an unsaved CV sitting in one browser is not worth much — signing in with Google or GitHub takes a few seconds and your work is then safe.
How we make decisions
- Recruiter-first. Every template uses one column, real section headings and body text that a screening system can parse. Decoration never gets in the way of the words.
- Private by default. Photos go into private storage and are only served back to the account that owns them. Your CV is never used for ad targeting.
- Free, honestly. A free account is all we ask, because that is what makes your CV safe. Advertising and clearly labelled partner links pay for the hosting. We will not bolt a paywall onto the export.
- No dark patterns. No fake download buttons, no countdown timers, no “your file is ready” walls.
What we will never claim
We will not tell you that a template guarantees an interview, that an ATS “score” means anything, or that a recruiter read your application. Layout helps a human decide faster. It does not decide for them. See our disclaimer for the full picture.
Editorial standards
Everything published on this site — the guides, the template notes, the page you are reading — is written and reviewed by us. We do not publish AI-generated filler or copy articles we have not fact-checked. We correct mistakes when we find them and update the date at the top of the page. We have no financial relationship with any employer, recruiter or “CV coaching” service mentioned on the site, and we never take money for a positive job.
Our favourites, honestly
When a section helps, we say so — including when it helps us, such as the hosting partner we use ourselves. Every such link is labelled as sponsored and costs you nothing extra.
Who we are
A small independent team of designers and engineers who have both sent a lot of applications and read a lot of them. We are not a recruitment agency and we do not sell your data. That is the whole business model.
